Educational Psychologist

This session our Educational Psychologist is Ashley McGregor.  Educational Psychologists support the school in a range of ways;

1. In an advisory and training role e.g providing training in sensory needs, nurturing approaches and restorative practice.  This session we will continue our training in Nurture. 

2. In informal discussions.  A teacher might speak to the educational psychologist without mentioning names of pupils for support when dealing with a particular situation in the classroom relating to one child or a group of children for informal, non-specific advise. 

3. In formal discussions.  For some children and families a more specific input may be required.  In this situation we hold formal consultation meetings under the Single Agency Planning format where the educational psychologist alongside class teachers and parents, make a support plan to help children engage in learning more easily or interact with peers more appropriately.

Kooth

What is Kooth?
Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online wellbeing service for
children and young people.
Young people using the site are able to access a range of support services including
one-to-one counselling sessions, discussing issues with their peers through online
discussion boards, reading and contributing to self-help content and recording their
feelings via journals and goal trackers. The online nature of Kooth means that young
people can access help in a way that is most suitable for them, at a time that is
convenient for them, 365 days of the year.
